Despite suffering their first regulation loss of the season, the San Jose Sharks continue as the top-ranked team in the TSN.ca NHL Power Rankings, ahead of the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues, two teams that also have just one regulation loss. Moving up this week, the Tampa Bay Lightning have won five of six, good enough to jump from 12 to five. The Minnesota Wild have won three straight and climbed into the Top 10, going from 13 to nine, and the Los Angeles Kings continued their shootout acumen, moving to 4-0 after 65 minutes of play, but two losses in the last nine games has helped them go from 18 to 14. Three wins in the last four games helped lift the Columbus Blue Jackets from 22 to 17. Heading the other way, the Pittsburgh Penguins fell, from two to 11, after they were outscored 9-4 in three straight losses, while injuries and a couple of losses contributed to the Anaheim Ducks going from six to 15. Goaltending injuries contribted to both the Nashville Predators and Carolina Hurricanes falling, Nashville from 15 to 21 and Carolina from 19 to 24. Among Canadian teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs are highest-ranked, up from 10 to six, remaining one spot ahead of the Vancouver Canucks, up from 11 to seven. The Calgary Flames continue to surprise, up from 14 to 12, and the Montreal Canadiens, beaten down by injuries, fell from nine to 13. Despite uneven progress, the Ottawa Senators are up a couple of spots, to 19, as the Winnipeg Jets are up from 23 to 22. At the bottom, among Canadian clubs, the Edmonton Oilers are up from 26 to 25, but have an ever-growing list of injuries with which to contend.
