Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has garnered more criticism Thursday, this time from the very team he was hoping to support. Ford - while wearing a Toronto Argonauts jersey - responded to allegations of having associated with prostitutes in front of the media on Thursday. His remarks concluded with an off-colour remark in regards to his lack of need to associate with prostitutes, intended to demonstrate the strength of his marriage. The Argonauts have issued a statement in return, criticizing the mayors comments, leadership and recent conduct, especially Thursdays remarks while wear teams colours. "Its well-known that the Mayor is a big fan and supporter of the game of football," an official statement read. "The Toronto Argonauts organization is not in a position to comment on the manner of dress of public officials." "The situation with respect to the Mayor and his leadership is unseemly at best," the statement continued. "These latest remarks, while wearing our teams jersey, are particularly disappointing given our organizations work in the community to help youth deal with issues of bullying prevention. We hope for the benefit of the wonderful citizens of Toronto and this great city that this situation is resolved expeditiously." Fords decision to wear an Argos jersey was meant as an act of civic pride ahead of the team hosting their provincial rival Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL East Division Final on Sunday. He even went as far to mention that one of his top orders of business Thursday was to call Hamilton Mayor Bob Bratina ahead of the match-up. However, his headline-grabbing comments about his marriage almost immediately followed his Argos boasts. Ford apologized for his remarks later in the day in front of a large media gathering. By that point he had taken the jersey off. Argonauts executive chairman and chief executive officer Chris Rudge would strengthen the teams position on Ford at practice at the Rogers Centre on Thursday, telling reporters that Ford would not be a guest of the team on Sunday. "The Mayor has not been invited to the game," Rudge told reporters. "I dont know if hes coming to the game. He does come down here on occasion and like any other citizen he can buy tickets and come down and cheer for the Argonauts." Basically, he suggested that the NHL should not have used a referee from Quebec, following the Game 3 disputed non-goal, because the referee could be biased towards Montreal. Chris Hogan Jersey . Granada defender Diego Mainz barged into the back of Villa to send the Spain striker to the ground inside the area and Costa stepped up to the spot to score his 12th league goal in the 38th minute. Wearing flat caps, knee-length knickers and dark blue soccer socks, the stylish Norwegians beat Germany 8-5 for a third consecutive victory. "It was knickerbockers vs. lederhosen today," Norway curler Christoffer Svae said. "And the knickerbockers won." China defeated Switzerland 5-4 for its third win without a loss. Sweden, also 3-0, had a bye in the morning session at the Ice Cube Curling Center. The U.S. men and women were a combined 0-5 after two days play, but John Shusters team ended the losing streak by beating Denmark 9-5, with five of its points coming from steals. "Getting a win was huge both for our team and for the state of curling as far as our country goes," Shuster said. Shuster said the arrival of his wife Sarah and 9-month-old son Luke in Sochi on Tuesday sparked an improvement in his performance, after disappointing losses to Norway and China. "I got a text message from my wife last night that helped me get in a much better mindset," he said. "She just told me to remember to enjoy this and be a curler, because you are out here doing something that you have fun doing. "It really changed my complete beinng.dddddddddddd" There are four games in the evening session, including Canada vs. Russia and Denmark vs. Sweden. The Canadians (1-2) have made an underwhelming start to the defense of their title. Norway caused a stir in the Vancouver Games in 2010 by donning diamond-printed pants for their matches instead of the usual black curling trousers that most teams wear. In Sochi, the Norwegians have gone a step further and unleashed their new, bold range of clothing on the Germans. The cap -- known as a sixpence -- is Norwegian-patterned with different colors and different shapes. The socks are exactly the same type worn by Norways soccer players. The pattern on the knickers was sharp red-and-blue teeth. Norway, the 2010 silver medalist, has now beaten the U.S., Russia and Germany -- "probably the three weakest teams of the tournament," according to Svae. "We play Sweden tomorrow," he added. "Well get a first real test." The U.S. slipped behind 3-0 after the first end but responded with a deuce and then stole points in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 8th ends, keeping the Danes scoreless until the 9th. "Hopefully this turns the tables," Shuster said, "and we can get it rolling in the other direction."
